1How do I make a booking?
To make a booking with Taylor Horse Boxes call Rebecca on 07496 304134 or send us a message using the form on the Contact Us page to check availability for the dates you wish to book.
If the trailer is available on the dates you require, you will be able to confirm your booking over the phone by paying the booking deposit of £25 by card.
Full payment will have to be taken by card one week before collection of the trailer. The damage deposit may be paid in cash or by card at the time of collection.
2What documentation do I need to have?
Please check you have the correct driving licence to tow these trailers, full licences held before 1997 were automatically entitled to B+E on your licence which allowed you to tow a trailer up to 3500kg gross weight, however licences held after 1997 do not automatically get B+E entitlement and need to take a separate trailer test to tow up get this. This does not mean that you cannot tow but restricts you to certain rules, to find out what you can tow please read the Towing and The Law page..
In order to hire the trailer for self-drive, we will need to see the photo card of the driver’s full UK driving licence. If you do not have a driving license with a photo you will need to bring another form of photo ID such as a passport.
Create a licence ‘check code’ to share your driving record https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
We will also need to see either originals or copies of two utility bills from within the last 3 months as proof of address.
Read information on hiring a vehicle on the DVLA Website.
Prior to hiring the horsebox, we advise you to read through, print off and bring with you a copy of the terms and conditions.
3Do I need to pay a deposit?
There is a booking deposit of £25 per day of hire, this is taken at the time of booking to confirm the dates you wish to hire the horse box.
There is also an £250 damage deposit to cover damage to the trailer in the case of an accident. This can be paid by card or in cash at the time of hire and will be refunded if the trailer is returned in an undamaged condition.
It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure there is a legal number plate on the trailer you are hiring, we can provide the means to fix it onto the trailer if need be. If you do not have a number plate and wish to purchase one, the cost is £10 inc VAT, however we CANNOT provide one unless you bring your V5 registration document for your vehicle and a second form of ID such as UK driving licence or debit/credit card. Anyone taking their hire trailer without a legal number plate do so at their own risk. (Please note hand written number plates are not classed as a legal number plate)
